What is the fiscal black box and what is it used for?
The FDM (Fiscal Data Module) is a certified fiscal black box connected to the POS system. It securely and tamper-proof records all sales and generates traceable fiscal receipts. Grace period (new businesses)
FDM 2.0 was supposed to become mandatory starting from 1 July 2025 for businesses that do not yet have an FDM system. Due to the shortage of FDM 2.0 POS systems on the market, a grace period is granted until 1 January 2026.
- Between 1 July and 31 December 2025, you may install an FDM 1.0 system to remain compliant.
- You may voluntarily switch to FDM 2.0 as soon as you have a certified POS and an FDM 2.0 module.
- From 1 July 2025, online FDM 2.0 registration is possible, even before the system is physically delivered.
Transition dates FDM 1.0 → FDM 2.0
For businesses already equipped with FDM 1.0, the switch to FDM 2.0 will be phased in starting from 1 July 2026, depending on the registration date of the current system.
